Sounds more like differential or drive shaft problems and I trust you are doing this 80-90ish on private roads so that you don't get booked? Believe me if we ALL kept to max 70mph (okay so it's boring) we could do away with around 90% of traffic police and their annoying habit of popping up where you least expect them.

All the best, Peter.

Only on private airfields, following the traffic flow of DC10's honest guv !

The other thing I wondered was could it be an engine mount? When Drive or Reverse are engaged the engine seems to shift more on the drivers side than the passengers..... any views ?

Have you looked at the top engine mounting to see if it's split?

Changing the auto box fluid will do no harm, but a can't see how this could cause vibration.

Is the vibration there at the same speed in third?

Hi Chris,

The daft thing is it ONLY ever does this at the specific speed range, in 4th....never before, never after and never in any other gear.....

Hi Jim,

Mine was doing this recently at about the same speed, turned out to be front wheels out of ballance.
I also have a weak damper on the passenger side which can't have helped.

Maybe worth having the wheels ballanced if you haven't already.

Regards.

My C70 autobox sometimes judders when doing a manual shift between 3 and D, usually if you just do the change once.
However, if you repeat the process a couple of times the problem clears itself which leads me to think that it is an electronic problem rather than a mechanical one. My local dealer is suitably perplexed!

Hi Alex,

Most certaintly is. I actually live in North Wales. My C70 is needing a routine cash injection at the moment...You know the usual things like tyres and brakes so I`m using this as an excuse to upgrade further. I`ll post some pictures when I`m done.

Lovely house too :)

How do you find the supersprint exhaust? I've got one on mine (although the c70 tailpipe is bigger!!!), i quite like mine, nice note.
