Angry Outragous cost and somthing else Broken?

Hi All

Advise required here Guys and Girls

I took my 854 T5-R to Inchcape Norwich Yesterday for a new fob and alarm reset, (Ouch) £143 for a fob and 2 fuses.
I then took my Girlfriend to work this morning when it was still dark and noticed the center consol gear selector lights where no longer working, so i called Inchcape and said as they had played with fuses, I told them they where working the night before and now they where not, an engineer called me back 10 mins later and said there's no way they caused that to fail and that they are a common fault that goes all the time on the 800's and said there is nothing he could do to help me?, he then procceded to tell me that i could fix it my self but be care full not to break the selector it self and the said he could fax me some stuff?.

Any idear's

Might get a better response if you either post this in the 850 forum or ask IC to move it there.
