sorry, I didn't come back and reply about the door mirrors until now.
I have yet to clean and take pics but the job is done!
face-lifted mirrors installed and old one sold.

Are they plug and play - no.
Are they difficult to get to fit - no.

Ok, first you need to strip down the door by removing the door cards (front only).
Remove the securing nut and disconnect the wiring harness.
There is a clip to tidy the harness, just lift it out.

That's the removal taken care of!

Install is a little more complicated!
The new mirrors have the same locating nut but in addition there are two pins either side of the nut to help secure in place.
Go grab a drill and drill the holes required, only about 5mm.

You can then secure the mirrors and move on to the wiring.
The wiring connects are an exact fit but the pin outs are different.
push the pins through, turn them 180 deg. and pull them back down and out.

Once you have the correct wiring set-up, plug the harness back in and re-install the door cards :-)
That's all.
I do have a wiring diagram in case anyone want to know!

I'm contemplating fitting a rear spoiler - it's the one main item letting the car down now I've got so much of the R-Design kit on there.

Does anyone know if any of the cheap ebay spoilers are anything close to a rear one??

This one for example is only £65 delivered. LINK (Too much of a curve??)

And this one's £70 delivered LINK (Looks perhaps like it joins right alone the top - the real one only joins at each side doesn't it?)

Ben,
I have the second one which is a copy of the original Volvo design.
I negotiated the price of £50 inc postage.

Have you seen this?

Right colour but price is too steep Im guessing, just make them an offer!

Hmmm... may go for the £50 one! Have you got a good pic of it fitted?
Is it a close copy?
You mean this one, right? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ht_2087wt_1139
It's £50 anyway?? Plus no gap in the middle?

Was fitting tricky? Is it just bolts or Tigerseal too??

Drilling the boot is a bit scarey!!

Shame the second one has no pics, think I'll ask if they have some, that's very cheap!

I saw the original one, bit too pricey for me (I really am a chepskate!!) plus I have my own compressor and paint left over, so no effort really to paint it myself!

I asked for a pic and they pointed me to their website, the £35 one is a replica, seems a very good price. Let me know how easy you found fitting and I may just buy one!

Oops, got that wrong, no reply from the £35 one, it was the £55 one that pointed me to their site! That must be the one you meant, looks like the real thing in the pic

Ben
take a look at this

I think this would be pretty good for you and has the updated handle and lettering too.

What do you think...plug and play ;-)

Cheers Jason, that looks good, except since I already have the paint it's no effort really for me to paint and fit a spoiler only. I already have he spaced lettering rear handle.
Somehow I don't think it will end for £50!? (Watching it anyway)

They've replied saying £54 delivered, think I'll order it now!

I've been looking at the silver roof rails on other v50's. I was thinking they were brushed metal (like Audi's etc) but on closer inspection they are just a bright silver powdercoat, under a lacquer by the looks of it.

So I've just spoken to a local powdercoaters who say they'll do mine for £50 cash. The end caps however are plastic so they'd need spraying to match.

Hopefully powdercoating will be strong enough not the crack when I put a roof rack on!
