Morning all,

Not tried to access the postcode feature ( if available ) yet, will do on the way home tonight.

The only difference I have noticed is obviously all the latest roads have been added, and map labels for various locations/petrol stations etc updated.

Whilst navigating as long as displaying the current road you are on ie A35 it now has a little signpost below it showing other main locations if you were to stay on that route ie Poole, Ringwood etc.

When approaching a roundabout you still get the split view of map on the right and closeup of the roundabout and junction to leave at on the left.
However, the roundabouts are now 'round' and not pentagonal as in the earlier DVD version which is nice.

I have attached an image of my Firmware versions and map versions display for reggit.

Morning all,

Just thought I would post an update a week on.

New Nav disc is working fine. The system, to me seems a little more fluid on the map side, the interface is the same.

The routing seems a little better, as on one journey It used to place me one road over at one part and then guide me back to the one that I was currently on (2005 version) this version has it right from the start.

The only thing I can see that I am missing after going from 2005 to 2015 is that I am not getting the TMC ? is it?

I am not getting the markings on the map showing me traffic density ie orange or red arrow things that show heavy traffic.

Nor have I heard the "Half a mile ahead, a traffic problem, do you want to avoid it" message and an alternative route option.

So the Nav part is working perfect, but I am no longer getting traffic warnings.

I did go through the menu's system and I am sure I have everything turned on.

Any ideas?

I certainly get the TMC warnings, ‘in xx miles there’s a traffic problem’. Never seen traffic density markings though. I’ve only ever used the 2015 maps and the firmware it’s currently on.

Looking at the user manual for RTI earlier I see that the system takes its data from a Radio Broadcast.

There is an option to select the source of this within the RTI settings/ traffic menu, at the moment it seems to be picking up HEART FM and Radio Solent.

So I guess it needs the strongest signal and takes the data from the Radio.

I need to Pick one or maybe has an 'auto select' option.

Will look again later.

Hi all,

Well I have finally sorted out the lack of TMC updates.

I think I put it down to some confusing sub-menu settings and a bit of menu duplication that needs both separate parts ticked.

So, overall I have to say that I am pleased with the 2015 update DVD. It appears to have some minor graphics changes which are good and its all working fine.

The settings that you have to get right for TMC are;

In the Settings/traffic Information make sure auto diversion is on.
Check any options you prefer in Traffic-info selection, i ticked 'use all'

In traffic-info manual search & selection, if nothing is there let it search, it may take a minute to do this, then select 'Classic' which is Classic FM ( for the TMC broadcast). Then press back/back/back to get to the top level. You don't need your radio tuned to this as well.

The bit I missed, hence why I did not receive the TMC alerts or traffic density marked on my map is actually elsewhere.

Go to Map / Traffic-Info Selection and set the option you require. Cannot remember the options at the moment and the manual does not show the menu but select 'use all' or whatever it says.

After this my TMC sprang into life.

So you actually have to set the same similar menu options in two different parts of the system. Thats why I did not see the problem, as being lost in the system I thought to myself 'I have seen that before and I set it just now'
Only problem was its a very very similar menu but in two sections and you need to set both.

So for anyone thinking of upgrading to the latest and last issued (2015) maps I would fully recommend it.

I got my single 'Disc' online. It is genuine Volvo and not a RIP/Copy/whatever else.
I paid £20 for it including delivery.

Put the life back into my system.
