New rear tyre as it was close to the limit and a slow puncture repaired on the front....turns out it wasn't punctured but the lad blamed corrosion on the rim and poor balancing (crimp type)so all of them were ripped off and rebalanced.

All done for her indoors to lend my car as she had a long motorway drive and her car needs a new wheel bearing(I wasn't using mine anyway).

On her return I gave it a much needed hoover out as there was feathers everywhere(don't ask) and clean, I noticed there's a couple of plugs not plugged in under the drivers seat(I'll get a pic for some advice) and a plastic hose fell off under the passenger seat that needs putting back in place, I probably knocked it.

I need to change a couple of door rubbers as they're done and the light in the drivers footwell needs either replacing if it was every there(previous owner was a DIY man but a moron at best).

The fabric on the front pillars is coming off, becoming loose....can anyone recommend some adhesive and can I pop them off without damaging clips?

A video showing how to undo the clip and remove the pillar cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SrBK3ppcFE

Here's a nice DIY to replace the cloth covered pillars with plastic pillars https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo...485011#p485011

Replaced the front drivers side window regulator guides this week. Again the old guides fell apart upon removal. Definitely a job worth doing as preventative maintenance rather than reactive maintenance.

Default Sump plug washers bulk-buy

After always paying over the odds for sump plug washers I got this bag of 50 aluminium washers for £1.95 from Beal, although I did have to order a few more items to make the postage worthwhile. This should keep me going for a little while.

Thumbs up

Ok, this was last weekend as its rained all this weekend :-(

- Replaced Engine Air Filter and Pollen Filter
- Checked exhaust mount and its corroded (see pic), need to replace with the Volvo Exhaust Bracket Repair Kit (P/N 30681626) when I get around to it.
- Checked the Lower Torque Rod and the small bushing is cracked, so I now have one on order from FRF Volvo.
- Checked the vacuum to my engine mounts, front one looks like its failed, so I now have one on order from FRF Volvo.
- Fixed a rubbing noise where the CV Joint Gaiter Retaining Clips were rubbing part of the wheel arch foam (can't think of a better way to name the part - see pic).
- Discovered that my battery needs replacing and probably the Mass Movement Sensor (to address my alarm going off all the time).

Great service from FRF Volvo in Wales BTW!

The keen eyed among you will notice it's a bike so how can it be Volvo related?
Well this has literally been paid for with the savings I make from driving and maintaining an old but ever so reliable S60 D5.
Not many cars come with a free bike.
1978 while living in Minnesota I bought this beauty:

Getting on it and doing the twolanes after a couple of weeks in one of my semis was like flying..

Here are some during and after shots..
I wish mine on my 2005 XC70 looked that clear - mine has crud on the inside of the lenses..
