Default Working out electrics

Hi, I have a 1978 244 b21 that has a fuseholder mounted onto the rocker cover of the engine.Could anybody please tell me what this is for ?

It sounds like something that a previous owner has fitted; there shouldn't be anything on the cam-box cover except the oil-filler and a couple of guides for the plug leads.

Any chance of a picture to help with identification?

There is an inline terminal box on the near-side inner-wing that is fed direct from the battery; it's a useful source for powering relays for auxiliary lamps/electric fan/air-horn compressors. There are a couple of other electrical gizmos scattered around the wings/bulkhead too.

That is a diagnostic plug , it goes to a flywheel position sensor .It is used for the volvo mono tester special tool which gives a read out of ignition timing on a meter .

Unfortunately it is of no use to you ..
