XC90 2011 D5 Timing belt idler pulley spacer/washer

Apologies if this has already been covered, I have searched and couldn't find the answer... Can anyone tell me if the 2011 model 200PS D5 engine has a spacer/washer behind the timing belt idler pulley?

I have just changed the timing belt on my recently acquired 2011 XC90 D5 using a Gates kit (came with Gates branded belt and INA branded idler and tensioner pulleys) I followed the Haynes manual and watched some youtube guides before starting (I've previously changed timings belts on Vauxhalls and Fords but never done a Volvo). In the youtube video (by SiRobb) when the idler pulley was removed there was a washer that sat between the idler and the engine. When I did mine I was very careful when removing the idler pulley to catch the washer but there was none.

I'm paranoid that it may have been left out at some point by mistake...Does anyone know for sure if this year/model engine should have that washer/spacer? The belt still sits on the pulley but it's almost flush with the outer edge and the inner edge has a few mm spare. It's done 70000 miles and the tensioner pulley felt OK but the idler is spinning dry.

I do not remember a washer when I did mine (T18), just checked Vida and does not show one

No , the volvo idler fits direct to block … can't comment on stuff some other firm may have supplied ..

Thanks for the replies, I phoned a local Volvo service centre today and they also said they're not aware of any washer. Phew! Was not looking forward to taking it off again!

One further question regarding tensioner positioning if you don't mind... the general guidance from Gates for adjusting the timing belt tensioner is to rotate the tensioner until the indicator arm is in the center of the notch. The Haynes manual shows different positions depending on the temperature (see attached).
Before removing the old belt (with a cold engine) the tensioner arm was pointing to the left leg of the notch (ambient temp was about 10 degrees celcius). When I fitted the new belt/tensioner I adjusted it so that the tensioner arm was centred in the notch and manually rotated the engine twice and it didn't move (after tightening the tensioner bolt of course). After starting the engine briefly and switching it off the arm moved a few millimetres closer to the left side of the notch (I checked to make sure the tensioner moved freely when pressing on the belt). After running the engine for 5-10 mins the tensioner moved back to the centre. After driving around all day today with the engine at full temp the tensioner arm moved to the right side of the notch. This all seems to fit wih what the Haynes manual is saying but can anyone confirm if this is correct? I hope all this makes sense, thanks
