XC60 T8 - opinions and questions
Hi forum,
The XC60 T8 Inscription Pro has finally arrived. One week and 1000 Km later I have some opinions. Wonderful build quality, as expected, am really excited and happy with the buying decision, so I will not list here all the good things , but a few disappointments and questions.
Have a sunny weekend! P.S. If anyone curious about anything I am happy to answer any questions about the XC60 Inscription with basically all the features except B&W, alarm, tow bar, and child features

I would love to get the drop on the mpg. It would appear at 20mile trips charged each end give the 135mpg equivilebt. The 100mile trips give no real advantage. At what point is the cross over.

Both the city and highway rides involved some hills, I don't get straight roads around here... I guess the cross over depends on what you compare it with... I can only compare with my previous Hyundai, 2.0 diesel, 184 hp and all the amounts above are better then I would have got with it. On top diesel is 10% more expensive than super premium... Nevertheless, I didn't get the T8 to save money. I guess the 10K difference between the T6 and T8 (in Switzerland) is hardly justifiable (financially speaking). Driving silent and still having a beast at your feet.... priceless

I will also add one complaint/question to the OCD T8 owners on this forum: how come Volvo didn't allow us to order (cornering) fog lights, but they "forgot" to remove the fog lights button??? Enjoy the coming week

We have had our T8 a week now and so far loving it but have a couple of questions:
1. when in pure/hybrid mode the engine will switch to petrol and the electric part of the power gauge will disappear even with a full battery doing 30 mph. This is fixed by turning it on and off but seems odd. 2. I set the pre conditioning on a timer this morning for the first time, and the garage smelt of petrol when I went to the car, even though the car was a still plugged in. I thought it should pull the power from the plug not use the petrol engine? thanks |

2. It uses an auxiliary heater which uses fuel. If there's not enough fuel in the tank, preconditioning won't start. I had this warning when I only had 30 miles' worth of fuel in the tank. There's a warning in the manual not to use preconditioning (or remote start) in unventilated spaces. |

1. when I come to a stop in traffic, quick on and off and it seems to reset but I dont think its right to have to do that.
2. Its in a cartlodge so open at the front. I presumed that as it states in the manual that the car needs to be plugged in it would use the battery? |

2. There is a setting which is called “use additional heater”. AFAIK if you disable it, the petrol heater should not be used, only the electrical one. But some more experienced user should confirm this, as I never tried it myself.

thank you will try this.
Also as you mentioned in your first post the 'Pilot assist' also drives to close to one side of the lane if you find a way of making it more central that would be great. |
