Radio/CD
Just out of interest, were any of the 900 series Volvos fitted with a Radio/CD player, rather than the Radio/Cassette (with CD Multichanger in the boot)?
Or failing that, is there a Volvo Radio/CD stacker system that would fit a 960? I just hate the boot mounted multichangers, so I'm looking for an alternative.... Regards Eddy |

Thanks Dunc, do you have any pictures of the unit please?
Is it a multi CD unit or single CD? Regards Eddy |

This is it here:
Image789 (2).jpg Even though I shouldn't sell it to you seeing as you pinched a certain 960 out from under me, Grrrrrrrrr! It is a single CD, but it has the option to add a multichanger to it, if you so wish.

Your other option is to fit an aftermarket head unit that can play mp3s.
I can fit about 10 hours of music on a cd-r which removes the need for a multichanger. I haven't been on a trip yet, where I needed to change the disc.

I think they are all designed for the boy racers that want to have sound blasting out as loud as possible, I'm of an older generation that likes things to be a bit more subtle Regards Eddy |

Plenty of Alpine units are quite subtle but not very cheap either. How about an Ipod and an FM transmitter?

You could go for an SC-900 or SC-901. These models have a 3-CD cartridge (front loading) and can also control a remote 6-CD changer unit. They are both double din size. These are grey in colour only (as far as I know) and the main difference is the alleged speed of changing the CDs.
