Glove box
Well it's happened to me now. Glovebox is shut and wont open. How did you guys that had a similar problem get yours open. When you turn the knob it feels as if the spring is compressing. Luckily I have a donor car so if damage is unavoidable then I have a spare.

Unfortunately the only way in is with a flat thin bar well protected and padded to prevent any damage to the dash. Mine went recently, and I used a bicycle tyre lever...did the job easily.
Just insert it directly above the defective lock, and prise the door of the glove locker down. It's only a small catch so you shouldn't have to press far, or risk any damage if you protect the dash with padding under the bar.

Many thanks for that. A 2 minute job. Do you know how I remove the the whole lock from the lid? can see a locking washer but don't want to prise too heavily in case I am missing something.

Sounds like you guys have got the hang of undoing gloveboxes, I spent an hour, dented my dash despite using a cloth to protect it and it's still shut!
