17 reg S90 - stuck in standby mode

The car will not unlock automatically so I’ve tried the fob, thought this is normal as I’ve never driven in weeks. Nothing from the fob and as I was about the get new batteries it unlocked.

Arrived at my destination and the fob once again won’t lock it. Touching the car door doesn’t auto lock. Tried to use the app and it says my car is in standby mode. Not too sure what to do so might drive to dealership.

Any ideas what’s wrong?

I had similar issues with locking and unlocking and it was the batteries in the keys. I’d try some reputable replacements ( not ebays cheapos)

Thanks for the replies. Yes, looks like it’s the batteries in the fob. I’ve replaced with a £8 battery and all is good.

However my VOC app still says the car is in standby. I’ve started using fob and driven about 18 miles back home but no joy.

I’ll try charge my battery as it’s on 60%
