Well .... I was getting a 135F - MAF sensor signal too low error code so I ended up stumping up for a new Bosch one ..... big mistake. I have subsequently learned that 99% of the time a MAF sensor code is the symptom of something else which manifests itself in the MAF code because the air flow through it isn't correct.
In my case it was a blown intercooler allowing all the boost to vent out and thus overfueling. This both clogged the DPF and presented the MAF code. I replaced the intercooler (Thread here) https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=285412 I cleared the codes (along with swirl flap replacement ) and she's absolutely spot on, smooth, powerful and economical! So, to answer your question, if you suspect you have a MAF problem there's a good chance it's being caused by something else. |
