The supplying dealer ordered my forthcoming T8 here in NL last week of July and they are forecasting November 26th for delivery. Sounds about right. I'll post if there's an update.

My understanding was the USA demand is being switched from China to Sweden with some other non-european markets being switched in reverse order BUT all core EU production remaining in Sweden...........

https://www.autoblog.com/2018/07/19/.../?guccounter=1 suggests that European production would be in China.

Would'nt moving production to China increase the cost of cars in Europe because of high import duty for cars produced outside the EU, thats why Nissan opened up their Nissan plant in Sunderland to get round that, initially shipping them over in boxes to assemble there.

I got a bad news today and I hope this is only a mistake. My XC60 T8 factory order raised at the beginning of April and initially supposed to be delivered on the 31th of July will be delivered on the 30th of November. Unfortunately I cannot really monitor the order because this was raised through ALD.
Is anyone else facing such a huge delay with T8 orders? |

If true suggests they are making major changes to the production line/location. Matches my delivery also, although mine was ordered much later than yours. |

Coming back to Volvo after a couple of years in a A4 and ordered a XC60 T5 last Saturday, got a call on monday to say the car will be available at the end of September.
Think i may have struck lucky with colour choice on one in production as that seems quick. Having said that my last XC60 (4 years ago) was ready in 8 weeks |

I suppose it depends on the model. T8's seem to be particularly bad delivery wise and as I've mentioned, sometimes you can hit on a slot available via a dealer who had a car on order for stock. If you catch them in time you can spec. as you wish of course. |
