That's exactly what I thought when I saw the ad in Classic Car Weekly yesterday, together with a Singer and a Rolls - they all seem on the low side to me. A ploy to generate interest, perhaps; after all an estimate is just that.

Ive yet to see an auctioneer describe a car as rustbucket moneypit deathtrap, although patinated great history crops up from time to time

The owners also had the car advertised on car and classic...initially at £4800 then down to £3000 and now they have surely given up and put it to auction.

Car sold for £3200 at auction plus 20% indemnity....If you bid online there was an additional 3% charge on the auction house money
