Default How to remove rear bumper?

I need to remove the rear bumper on my 2004 V40 to fit a parkeing sensor (the sort that has a continuous self-adhesive strip on the inside of the bumper and doesn't require holes drilled in the bumper). I can locate the fixings under the wheel arch and behind the rear side panel trims but where are the main fixing bolts and how do you access them? Any help gratefully received!

No holes? Sounds very interesting - any more details?

there are three bolts and one torx screw in either wheel arch
then remove the interior from one side in the boot, just unclip the plastic screws holding it in place by turning them, think there are two, then give the interior a tug and it comes off. there is one nut to undo approx above the wheel arch, another approx below the light fittings, then the main bolt holding it on is the one with the metal loop on it that goes through the interior to act as a securing ring.
Push the interior roughly back in then do the same for the other side.

Its quite easy, ive done it a couple times after my after marlet sensors came out and had to glue them back in as they were only in place with gaffer tape!!

I'm a novice to these kinda jobs and only took me approx 40mins to get it off do the job and get it back on.

One tip, when you are fixing it back in place lift the bumper up as well as in or it will go on a little lower and sag a bit, easier if someone can hold it in place while you re-attach it.

Hope this helps

If you need any help give me a shout. I have a stripped down S40, so it is easy to take photos of the locations of screws

I'll be appreciative of any photos showing S40 rear bumper removal too, as I have just won a parking sensor kit on eBay, and hope to have it on hand to install next weekend....

....And if it's what I'm hoping, it will turn out to include a full front set of sensors also* - so I may need info on getting the front bumper off as well!

*Researched the sensors by product name and number - Longhorn H-066(II) - and came up with results from Russian and Ukrainian sites showing it as an eight-sensor front and rear system. Didn't dare ask the seller before bidding in case they publicly posted their response and gave the game away!

Inside above wheel well & a couple inside at back, what else am I missing?

Also need to take rocker panels off, any idea what tool is required for that?
