Here are a few 240s that I spotted on a trip to Gothenburg this week. I was surprised at how few there were about, compared to the huge numbers of 740s still going. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't really many 240s in the Volvo museum either.

Slightly OT, but have you noticed how many 240s have reg numbers in the format ANN AAA ? (A= alpha, N = Numeric)

They have changed the 240 display at the Volvo Museum. When we went in 2010 they had a red 242 turbo that was reputed to have been the car Volvo's CEO drove in the '70s and the last ever 240 produced- a blue 245 Italian spec Polar. Wonder where they have gone?

We spoke to the museum staff who told us they had around 200 cars which they rotated every now and then.

i just drove from western Denmark to Finland, spending 4 days driving (mainly on the E4) through Sweden. almost a third of cars on the road were volvo, but not so many 240s until we got further North, then there were loads.
The best spot was a farm just north of Sala on the 56 to Upsala: parked outside were at least 3 nice looking estates and a donor. There seems to be a lot of vintage American cars on Swedish roads. |

A very nice looking white estate parked in a driveway at Loggerheads, Staffs, near where we're staying. Haven't see it on the road at all but judging by the way it was parked it would appear to be in use.

steady sightings averaging 1-2 per week. Last Wednesday I saw a 265 travelling on the A27 near mount Caburn. Lovely example.
Saw this one in Newhaven what was interesting was how well cared for it was for a DL, and that it had the Estate rear spoiler...I remember there was on ebay going for telephone numbers... http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p143/bcxm/002-3.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p143/bcxm/003-4.jpg
