I spoke to Central services who are in Essex now. £220.80 to repair test and send back my unit. The address is now:

Central Services
Riverside Avenue West
Station Road
Lawford
Manningtree
Essex CO11 1UN

Email: enquiries@centralservicescaraudio.co.uk
Tell: 01206 396272

The person I spoke to knew the exact symptoms straight away.

(Note Volvo said it would be £720 exchange for the part!)

Thanks for the info.

I'm glad that you appear to have sorted it at a much lower cost.

Got the stereo out this afternoon. That was fun... But no airbag lights etc.

Having done it I reckon I could do it again in a fifth of the time now I know where all the screws and clips are hiding.

You can't see it in that picture above but annoyingly the bottom lip of the stereo has two or three plastic tabs that hook behind the top of the heater module that sits below it. So you have to release the heater to get the stereo out and likewise, back in.

The heater module is held in by two torx screws at the rear so you have to take the whole unit out to remove and refit any single part.

Perhaps when I refit the stereo I'll take some photos detailing how it is done step by step.

Fair play to Central Services - they did the business. Sent it off on Monday and was back in my hands by Friday. Fitted it back in this morning and all good as gold.

Ditto for my DVD drive. We all grumble about carp service so it's nice to say how well some companies perform.

I doubt this user is still around but does anyone else know what to look for if one was to try to repair it yourself?

Thank you.

I have just joined to try to solve the same problem with my HU-850 radio unit.
Any extra info on getting the panel of and the radio out would be appreciated.
You should make a video and put it on you Tube perhaps.

I spoke to Central Services today and they do sound very knowledgeable on these units.

I also need to remove my console but I can't find a you tube video on the same console that I have in my V70 SE.
Anyone know of a video on You Tube to help?
