Default Oil Starvation?

2001 Volvo v70 2.4S auto petrol, 125K miles.
For the past week, my oil warning light ( oil can) has been staying on for approximately 5 seconds on cold start & warning message " oil pressure low stop engine ASAP" has flashed up. I have immediately stopped the engine each time & on a restart, the oil can light goes out almost immediately. This evening after finally getting my portable garage erected I started the car to reverse it up the drive & the warning light stayed on for about 7 seconds & the engine gave a nerve-jangling rattle before I could shut it down. The oil level is almost at the top of the mark on the dipstick & a Service including oil & filter was done in June this year.
Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? It sounds like it could be oil starvation, but what could be causing it?
Any help would be very gratefully received as I love this old girl & would hate to see her destroyed by my ignorance!
Kind regards, Phil.

yes indeed , volvo sell the set of 8 or so O rings , but use the correct chemical sealer which volvo supply when refitting the sump .
The last few days have been very cold hence thicker oil in the morning , it is easier to suck up air than oil :-)

Had that on a petrol (bifuel) which had around 90,000 miles on it but looked to have been badly looked after. It’s a bit of a messy job, but not complicated.
