Default Removing driver's seat- concerns about airbag

Hi, 2010 XC90
Please would you give me some advice.
I need to remove the driver's seat to replace the seat cover (seat base). What's the procedure to ensure the airbag doesn't go off when I disconnect or reconnect the wiring? And to ensure the seat airbag warning light doesn't come on when I reconnect the wiring?
Also do I need any special sockets or tools?
Thanks
Peter

Simple: disconnect the battery and wait 15min before starting work.
Reconnect battery only once finished work

Hi Peter,

Electric or Manual seat.
The reason I ask is that it'll be a bit easier get at the bolts under the seat pan with the seat at full height extension and fully back and forward when needed. If it's electric , loosen the bolts before disconnecting the batter as you won't be able to move the seat once it's disconnected, this won't apply if it's manual. Also when your unplugging the harness from under the seat it helps to tilt the seat back towards the back seats when all the bolts are out of their anchor points. But as has been said once you have the seat up then disconnect the battery. Once the ignition is off you won't have problems with an airbag light coming on.

Regards,

Mike.
