Hello everyone, I have play in my rack that needs adjusting. But for some reason the nut it covered by a large metal plate that I have yet to workout how to get around. Any help would really be appreciated thanks

That is the crash protection plate , you can get the top part off by removing two bolts , i think you may have to bend a 17mm combination spanner to make your very small adjustment , It is much easier on a T6 believe it or not !

done this on my c70 just today,
goes as following as no one else posted a decent reply. 1, remove lower sway bar links 2 15mm nuts. 2, jack up driver side, or both sides if you can be bothered, the latter makes more room, 3, make sure your using jack stands 4, undo the driver side roll bar/sway bar bush housing, 2 13mm nuts, tight for space. 5, once undone you should be able to push the roll bar up about 30mm, use a zip tie to hold up out the way. 6, Drill a 12mm hole in the said covering plate lining up with the 10mm hex key. 7, inset Hex into new hole and adjust the rack. 8, if you go too far it will go stiff, i know lol. 9, put it all back together in reverse. i think there is suppose to be a little bit of play but i don't really know how much, not a lot but a little. i cant find any bushings online anywhere so they must not be replaceable. hope this helps. |

Hi - appreciate this post was originally from a few years ago, would you have a photo showing where the damper nut is on the XC90 please? Many thanks, Ian.
