Default 1988 240 steering rack sought. North West

If anyone has a good power steering rack available for a 1988 240 I would be interested to hear.

I think they changed slightly from 1986 onwards.

Thanks - Colin

I think the North West bit in the title might have something to do with it.

Indeed that is so.

I wanted to locate a used rack within driving/inspection distance in the North West as specified in the title. Maybe I should have made that more obvious in the message body.

At about the time of your message brodgar I became aware of a reconditioned rack ( stored for years but unused ) at a good price and didn't want to compromise its availability to me by announcing that on the forum.

I should, nevertheless, have paid you the courtesy of a reply for which I apologise.

I was very busy at the time researching and receiving emails from many sources and yours became one that was read on receipt, was not totally relevant because of the distance, then put on the back burner and not followed through.

I now have the parts I need and expect completion tomorrow assuming the local mobile mech is able as he has indicated.
