how to open a underside fuse box on engine compartment?
Hi, could anyone please kindly guide me on how to open an underside panel fuse box on engine compartment for Volvo S60. Wanting to check the fuse for radiator cooling fan. Managed to open four torx bolts on top but it's still stuck.
Thank you... |

On my 2004 V70 I know of no fuse panel boxes in the engine compartment that require removal of torx screws to expose the fuses. Exactly where is this box? Are you sure this box is a fuse box? What do you mean by 'underside' box?

+1 on the above... My cooling fan fuse is in the engine compartment fuse box, with a clip on plastic lid, RHS of engine bay as you look at it from the front of the car, behind air box/ECU and in front of suspension turret.
Unaware of any torx screws?

same hear, never had to undo torx bolts to check a fuse on our s60, do make sure it is a fuse box you are trying to undo.

OR http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attach...0&d=1282418825 Have a look at your fusebox information cover says underside face there are few 60amp fuse for fan, glow plugs etc. Also if you see your fusebox cover carefully there are 4 or 5 black torx bolts holding on and 2 hook like slide to hold the upper part fuse box and beside there is a red positive line bolted. Let me know guys if you have undone this as want to diagnose my cooling fan. Thanks a lot for your reply guys. Last edited by sand; Mar 9th, 2011 at 19:26. |

My v70 2002 has 4 torx screws holding down the fuse/relay board, I had an ongoing electrical fault under this panel but i could never remove it. The dealer did but I didnt get to speak to the mechanic to find out how. I would like to know too!

Yup guess we are on the same track eh. Stuck lid looks like dealer has some kind of secret key to open it. Yup it has 2 slides along with black torx bolts but I guess we have to unbolt the red cable to come loose beside fuse box.

I dont think the issue is getting the cover off, its removing the fuse/relay board underneath the cover which is held down by the torx bolts.
