Default V70 with B5244S Engine and Haynes

Hello all
I've bought a 2000 registered V70 with the 2.4 n/a B5244S engine.

Can anyone who has the Haynes manual confirm whether or not this engine is covered or not? Looking at the cover online, it doesn't seem to be.

Thanks, Nick

Hi, Nick, haven't got my Haynes manual to hand, I'm afraid, but can confirm that my own car doesn't have an engine cover as such. It doesn't appear to have ever had one. What makes you think that it should have?

Regards, John.

🤣Sorry John, I mustn't have expressed myself very well. What I mean is... does Haynes have information about this engine?

John, I think Nick is referring to whether the Haynes manual covers that particular engine. Not the physical cover. I mey be wrong.

Nick beat me to it.

Sorry about the misunderstanding, Nick. Yes, the Haynes manual does cover your engine.

If, like mine, your 2000 car is a late Ph.1, you will need the earlier manual. I found they were a bit thin on the ground; I eventually found one in a charity shop for £6.

A local bookshop said they would look for one for me, but when it came it was for the Ph. 2 cars, which can also be 2000 registered. When I pointed that out, the book seller was not amused. Somehow, the confusion was my fault!

I think in this case any confusion was because my Saab 9-3 'vert does have a physical engine cover and I thought that it was to that which you were referring.

My apologies once again, and I hope that this answers your question!

Regards, John.
