Default 940 handbrake cable broke now

hi all
not having much luck the the handbrake issue . hit a big pothole this mooring and handbrake locked on had to call the AA first time in 11 years .o its got to happen some time . so to cut a long story short the cable which goes to the passenger side had snapped at the clever link where it enters the disc . so it looks like another big job as ive never done this repair .
can any one advise me on the way to fix this . please help

I'm sure thats the long cable that runs from the handbrake in the car to the passenger side rear disc. so you would need to run a new cable. sounds like a bit of a pig. Maybe others on here could tell you the easiest way to do it.

hi will m been under car tonight it is the long cable so looks expensive plus doing the job .just hope i can get some advice of the forum

the part that is broke is the cleaver/cam which applies tennsion to the handbrake shoes. can i get this part separately?

Just changed mine on our 940. I believe you will need the cable as its a part of it and not sold seperatly. Could try a breakers I supose.
My advise if you are going to change the cable, would be to replace BOTH at the same time as they will probably (unless someone has chaned out just one in the past) be the same age and roughly the same condition.
Its not realy a bad job, just a little fiddly conecting at the wheel ends.
You need to remove the bit in between the seats to get to where the cables are secured under the lever so you are in there anyway. Only means removing another wheel, caliper and disk.
