Wouldn't be having this discussion if it was a disco... the alarm just wouldn't work.

Difficult to prove I know but it seems relevant to me as I use a 4g/3g wireless hotspot which is plugged into 12v socket in the boot that stays live after the ignition is turned off, I get quite frequent false random activations of the alarm. Turn it off and problem goes away.

Prior to this did have a couple of activations when the car was left in the sun put this down to temp in side the car or the aircon unit cycling, but again so infrequent difficult to determine. On hot days now I usually disable the interior sensor, and then never occurred so.........could be this.
Bingo. If I leave my 4G iPad in my 2004 V70 it will always, always set off the alarm (doesn't matter in my case as the module battery has exploded!). Took me a while to work that out!

Ours goes off when it rains hard. It is always the front mass movement sensors that triggers it. Not found out the exact cause yet other than the heavy rain. I can't reproduce it with a hose etc.

Unhappy Xc90 alarm going off all the time

Hi, I'm having a nightmare! I've owned the car less than 3 months and the alarm keeps going off! It's been back to the garage more times than I've driven it. They have replaced switches in the front door and the siren. This evening it's started again! It's driving me insane as it's always at night/early hrs if it's going to go off. Any ideas on what it could be as the garage clearly have no idea what to do with it.
Thank you

Probably interference.
Could be from wireless burglar alarms, garage doors, other wireless stuff. Also can be caused by an iPad left in the vehicle.

Random electrical signals can trigger the alarm - very difficult to pinpoint.

Locking my car using the fob used to set off the doorchime of my MiL's neighbour.
Since she lives down South we regularly arrived after midnight, and they considered this a tad anti-social

Radio interference works both ways

Had another thought. If it was set off by something inside it would register when the car is switched on in the morning, yes?
So if it isn’t registering on the computer then the most probable cause is the siren battery?

After any alarm trigger, which you consider may be a false alarm, you should use VIDA to determine which sensor set of the alarm
