THey explain how to do "black chrome" in one of their downloadable booklets, plate them black-chrome and they'll look bright and shiny black and never rust!

Considering how bright and shiny you've got them already, that's what gave me the idea.

Alternatively, etch-primer, normal primer, satin black top coat(s) of some description - not sure about the Eastwood Extreme, i was under the impression that was very thick - might be wrong though!

Interesting stuff Chrome plated suspension could be pretty cool but possibly over gilding the Lily

The Eastwood extreme chassis comes in a spray can Dave so not that thick but meant to be pretty tough and resistant to chipping. Unlike powder coating.

It was partly tongue in cheek Mark but mainly a compliment to your cleaning of the parts.

The Eastwood stuff might be a good option but another one that comes to mind is Plasti-Dip.

Goes on like a paint from an aerosol, dries to a rubber like finish and can be peeled off in the future for any other repairs but remains tough and durable meanwhile.

I've used plasti before and it would also be a lot cheaper than Eastwood. Not sure how it would hold up long term though

Good point, i've not used it before but everything i've read/seen about it suggests it should hold up well over time.

I thought of smooth hammerite but after a recent experience that was "less than satisfactory" i was reluctant to suggest it.

Maybe a combination of smooth hammerite and plastidip over the top would work.

As you say, decisions, decisions!
