In my 45 years of volvo experience I have always found you get what you pay for regarding parts . 1/3 the price is almost certainly 1/3 the quality . Volvos have very fine core heat exchanger to extract the ultimate amount of heat for the heater . The Volvo 140 was voted by Motor Magazine to have the hottest heater of any car they had tested in the 1970s.. That continues right through the range , You don't want to be doing that job twice for sure , spend the money you save by doing it yourself on decent parts ...

I found that the failure of these 2 of them were just corroded out, brass construction they could be soldered and saved. The other 2 were after heavy handed oiks have replaced the heater hoses on the receiving end of them, they've fractured. Possible to be saved but not really a guaranteed repair.
