XC60 T8 Polestar Engineered
Hi Guys,
Has anyone seen one of these in the flesh or better yet had a drive of one? Or if anyone has any thoughts on them at all that would be cool. Let me know! Cheers!

Hi DM,
I tried to switch my current MY20 XC60 T8 R-Design Pro order to a Polestar Engineered order with the dealer I ordered through with very little success. The main issue is that Volvo UK are not currently planning on giving any discount on any Polestar Engineered vehicles. They gave me a quote on the spec of Polestar Engineered model I wanted (list price of £67K) and the monthly repayments quoted for that spec were £300/month higher than my current R-Design Pro order (well optioned and with Polestar software). The List price of the R-Design Pro I ordered was only a few grand lower than the Polestar Engineered model price but I got a very good discount included meaning much lower payments. It would appear that Volvo want to keep the Polestar Engineered model in small numbers in the UK and not give any real incentives for buyers to buy them. In addition, my dealer tried to order a number of Polestar Engineered cars as Demo's and stock cars only to get them cancelled at factory, Volvo will only allow the order to go through if there is a signed customer order form and deposit paid meaning the likelyhood of any Polestar Engineered cars being available as demo's anytime soon is almost zero. I am still very keen to get my hands on one but looks like I will have to wait a while until Volvo realise that there needs to be a little bit of an incentive to spend that much money on one. |

sk546 I don't want to stir the pot at all, but I've been personally offered a discount on one and I wasn't even in the market for one!
I think your dealer is telling slight porkies!!!! Whatcar saying 5k; https://www.whatcar.com/volvo/xc60/e...tar_Engineered Broadspeed saying 15k (although I HIGHLY doubt that figure); https://broadspeed.com/CarView/Volvo...omatic_5_doors Carwow are saying 8k; https://www.carwow.co.uk/volvo/xc60/deals Carwow seems the most realistic of those three in my opinion. I'd go back to him and threaten pulling out maybe?

Hmmmm, very interesting.
Just did a Carwow quote on the Polestar Engineered model spec I want and got a 13.3% discount through a different local(ish) dealer straight off the bat. Will see what other offers come back before emailing my current dealer to ask whats going on. Thanks for the heads up. |

Yeah didnt want to stirr things but as I said I've personally been offered a discount by my dealer on a PE model as he knows I like things like that and I wasn't even specifically interested.
Yeah 13%-ish sounds like a good deal and around the max I'd expect you to get on a normal day through a retailer based sale - definitely better than 0%!!!! No probs glad I could help!

Yes/thanks, I refer to polestar optimization.
Did you bought it optimized or you did it later on? I am considering to get mine optimized at its first service. Is it worth it? MY19 XC60 T8 R-Design Pro |

I'm afraid I can't compare it to a non-Polestar car but it certainly makes me smile. |

I test drove both a Polestar optimised XC60 T8 and one without the Polestar optimisation when I was choosing my next car.
There was enough of a performance difference between the two cars for me to spec my new car to come with the Polestar optimisation but I wouldn't say its night and day faster. There felt to be more mid range torque and top end power available but don't go expecting the car to go like a Ferrari (although the T8 is surprisingly quick for a big SUV). Hope this helps. |
