Default 2003 V70 Headlights

I've tried using the search facility, but can't come up with any answers, but I know there must be some solutions on here.

My offside head light is a different colour than the near side. That's the best description I can give.
The pattern is there and pretty clear, so I know the reflector must be in good order.
I first noticed it when bringing the car home after buying it last week. Today I replaced the sidelight bulbs with LEDs. They are from the same batch and look the same when not fitted into the bulb holder. However, the nearside looks white, but the offside has a blue tint.
Could it be that I just need to remove the lights and give them a good clean inside and out?
Can someone point me to a thread regarding headlight removal?

Could it even be that there are various types / tints on head lights and one of mine has been replaced for the wrong type?

If I recall, the bumper has to come off to remove the headlights. There are 2 little bolts that a behind the bumper just under the wing at the very front. The bumper does come off fairly easy though. There's 2 main bolts at the front which are under the trim, and 2 little hex bolts which are situated at the very front edge of the wheelarch.

Probably just as easy with the bumper completely off. There was nothing else holding it on in the YouTube clip with the exception of the fog light cables. There is always the danger of breaking those plastic clips that or on the headlights by forcing things in and out.

OK. That looks much easier than my last car.
How do the headlights come apart? Or...do they?

At a guess, I would say they're sealed units, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

The glass lens is bonded to the plastic case, so not intended to come apart. You can pick up 2nd hand unit from about £25 upwards so that may be the easiest option.

It looks like they mightn't be. Just found this vid.

So, this might be my first proper job on the car...when the weather warms up

That's the phase 1 V70 which could be taken apart. Second hand is the way to go. £25 a side:

No idea whether it works but I have seen a technique of using crushed ice - even better if you make it from distilled or boiled water. Put the crushed ice in, swirl it around vigorously, empty and dry. It does seem to work but in the event of it damaging the reflective coating don't come looking for me
