New 2018 XC60 : D5 or T6 ?

Hello from South Africa.
About to place an order for a fully specced inscription XC60 for my missus.
Her RR Evoque 2.0 petrol dynamic has had 3 major breakdowns in the first 3 years , including engine and gearbox replacements....
My missus has to spend many hours doing school lifts in moderate to heavy traffic, and gets impatient. The Evoque replaced her Subaru Forester turbo - lets just say she likes a nippy SUV.
I've just tested a D5 XC60, and believe that it is better than the Evoque in virtually every respect.
Not looking at any other manufacturer.

My questions :
Which engine would you chose, and why ?
In particular, is the diesel D5 (173 kW) quick enough in take-offs and when overtaking in the 40km/h to 100 km/h zone, or is the petrol T6 (235 kW) the obvious choice for an enthusiastic / impatient driver ?

I have driven an xc90 vea D5 and that was no slouch. Didn't buy it as it was a computor with a sofa auto everything and I still enjoy driving so not my type of car. That aside it accelerated very well.

Having never driven a TV sorry cannot comment.
