Amazon: Outdoor Car Cover For Saloon

Hi,
my 121 Automatic has been sitting on by drive for the last eight years and is now half way through a rebuild of the front and rear suspension. Although the underneath has suffered slightly from moisture rising from the block on sand drive it is parked on no serious damage has been caused. I have purchased a waterproof tarp to place under the car but I'm not sure what to do about covering the car. Any uk product recommendations would be much appreciated. I want to cover it because I noticed that my 2006 respray is peeling around the door apertures.

The problem with car covers is that they tend to chafe and remove paint when they move in the wind.

If at all possible I'd build a car port - much better than a cover

I wouldn't put a tarpaulin under the car - water needs to be encouraged to bugger off as quickly as possible - pools of stagnant water under a car is almost as bad as parking it in long grass for a few years...

I use a Rain-x car cover for my car when inside over the winter. The box does say waterproof so I assume suitable for outside. I bought it at Costco around £30 ish plenty for sale via internet £40 ish

I use a Halfords all seasons breathable cover on my Amazon. It’s my only car and gets used all year around so fitting/removing can be a PITA but it‘s worth doing in my opinion. I went for the medium size and it fits fairly well considering it is not ‘tailored’ for my car. Think it was priced at 50 quid but I got it on offer for £30.

Make sure your car is clean before you put the cover on and there should be no issues. Obviously a car port or garage would be a far better option, but you have to use what you’ve got.

Don't put a cover on a wet car (even if the cover is breathable) and don't put it on if the engine is still hot - condensation caused by a cooling engine and a cover trapping the heat is not a good idea.
