480 Celebration, what to do with it?
Hi all, new member here.
Ive just bought a 480ES Celebration from a salvage auction and am now Ive got it, am wondering exactly what to do with it. Its stolen recovered, or attemted theft, so needs a steering lock but that's about it. After a quick look round, its a bit tatty in regards to paint work and the usual faded back lights, drives ok, but clutch is poor, are they adjustable?? Its MOT'd until next July, so could sell as is, do a few jobs [headlights don't pop up] or break it. What do you guys think? I was going to add pics, but how??? |

If you open an account with flickr or imgur you can host pictures on there and then link them across to here.
Any rust on it? If you didn't pay much for it then it's definitely worth sorting any issues out, it'd be a decent daily if nothing else! |

We need pictures.
A lot depends on how rough it is and what it would take to get back to honest presentable condition. If the body is sound and only minor issues to sort and cosmetics, I would say restore it and keep it as a running example. If the body is rotten - I'm not familiar with the model for rust, but if anything like the 360's I had it will be rotten, I would break and feed the spares market to keep the good ones on the road. It also depends on how much you paid for it, so economics will come into play and what facilities you have for breaking.

There is one question - is there any rust?
If the answer is no, then do everything to make it perfect!

Do anything you can to save it. If its anything like mine (and most others) it will need a lot of rear arch work. If however you do think its too far gone and decide to break it please let me know, I'm sure there are one or two parts i need for my project.
