Default SRS Airbag Help

Hi hoping for some help

Have an SRS airbag error message which is the passenger seatbelt pre tensioner.
My local friendly garage says it’s tried to just remove the code but it just comes back.

He advised me to just get a pre tensioner and he will fit it. Volvo want £340 !! For it not fitted

Any advice would be great, can I just buy it used off eBay if so what do I need I’ve got a 2014 V40 thanks

It will likely be a much cheaper option to get a 2nd user part from a breakers yard and fit that - but I would only recommend doing that if you are suitably equipped and experienced to be confident about working around electrical systems and have read the procedure first...

If nothing else remove the batter -ve lead before you start and reconnect it only when you have finished.

If you do get a new one, best to get the whole job done at a dealer, they will confirm the diagnosis and you therefore have some comeback if they dont fix it.
