Default Seat swap, issues.

Hi all,

I've fitted a set of 2005 seats into my 2002 V70. The 2005 seats had Ford connectors which needed to be changed to suit the Volvo connectors on my V70. The seatbelt buckles on the front seats could be unbolted and swapped so their electrical connector would fit but now I've got an airbag light with "Passenger/Drivers seat belt buckles no signal"

Also, the electrically powered drivers seat only works for a couple of minutes then stops. I have to unplug the connector with the 4 wires that goes to the seat ECU and plug it back in again and movement is restored- for another 2 minutes. One wire is a live, another is an earth, the other two are related to the CAN system I think. Does the car need to be programmed for an electric seat via VIDA?

Any input greatly appreciated!

I’ve also been offered the door cards from this 2005 facelift V70, any ideas if they are a straight fit for my pre facelift car?

just fit the correct model year seats, I would never attempt to fit facelift seats into a prefacelift

Its do-able but really isn't worth the hassle! I bought a set of seats from the correct year in the end.
