[QUOTE=Scotia64;2562063]How do I do OTA updates?[/QUOTE

As long as you have a data connection, wifi/sim or use your phone as a hot spot you can open the download app in Sensus and sellect maps, you can tick the box for auto downloads or download the updates manually, it will search for any downloads when you open the app. As long as there is a data connection.
Tha actual download is very quick, it takes longer for the download to install but that does not require a data connection to install and carries on in the background as you drive.
P.S the whole of Europe map is too large to update OTA, you will get a message "map update too large use USB" or similar. sellect the NWE map as your home region map.

Thanks for that , I’ll have a look later . I’ve still got 99.5gb of car data. I’ll also check out how to use my phone as a hot spot, I didn’t know you could do that.

Turn your phone hotspot on and the car communication connection to wifi and it will search and find your phone wifi, sellect it and put your phone connection code in and away you go.
If you dont know your hotspot code it will be in the phone settings somewhere.

You won`t need to set up your phone if you have all that data. You will gain nothing from it.
You won`t even use up the data have I don` think.

My mobile contract gives me 6gb per month, I very seldom come close to that amount. I’ve only had my XC90 for 2 weeks, I’ve no idea how much data I will use in the car .

Even if you set your map to auto update, and listen to internet radio for 3 hours every day, you may only use around 1Gb a month.
If you don`t use tune-in or spotify, then you`ll use next to nowt mate.

I know, it was a tutorial of how to set up a phone hot spot not to download the map but the option is there to download maps and the advantage would be using up contract data that is being paid for each month and usually goes unused and saving the Sim data.
I use my data sim in a mifi modem in my caravan and the grand kids eat it using youtube. 100gb would probably last them about a month.

The maps differ by area. They are between 120mbyte and 380mbyte. Personal use differs but you will have problems to use more than 1-2gbyte per month.
As IPhone /IPad user you just have to be careful if you load them in the car while running the cars hotspot. They might start an over the air backup - that will drain any data pool faster than you can look.
