SU carb jets
In response to a question I posted on the B16 forum re leaking cork seals on the jets I was referred to this Here he uses part number 09262106 Buna-N O ring 3/4" ID x 1" OD x 1/8" thick, round. Scroll about 2/3 into this article. https://thosbryant.wordpress.com/.../su-carburetor.
in the article the author refers to Teflon jet sealing rings, about 2 thirds down the article. Anybody know if such a thing would be available in the UK.Dont really want to incur the cost and hassle of importing from the USA

If you ask Tom nicely he may be willing to sell you what you need. Normal postage in a small padded envelope should be low. After earlier postings about his site he did say that he monitors postings here. He is a member. Find his email address on this page.

Pretty greedy you wanting the Teflon seals as well.
See the tail end of this article for the dimensions and American suppliers. Perhaps you can get local parts with the information. https://mgaguru.com/mgtech/carbs/cb106.htm |

Just a small point regarding cork gaskets for the SU Carbs: ~
These are normally a long service item when installed correctly- they should be left soaking in “oil” for as long as possible- this will stop the same from drying out. Bob. Edit- another long standing SU company http://sucarb.co.uk/carburettor-kits...uild-kits.html Last edited by Bob Meadows; Oct 10th, 2019 at 11:50. |

Yes, Burlen and GowerLee can supply all of the standard parts but the items from Tom are non standard. They maybe an improvement over the original parts but Burlen and others aren't usually willing to change anything from the original specs. Burlen has upgraded the SU floats but nothing else AFAIK.
Thanks Tom for posting. |
