Default Front callipers

I’m going to be taking both front callipers off soon to give them a damn good clean up etc before painting.

My question - is it best to take them off one at a time and clean up one side individually and bleed that side before starting on the other side or is it ok to take both off at the same time? What’s easier in terms of bleeding?

Also - any recommendations for brake hose clamps? The callipers may be off for a couple of days.

Thanks in advance.

Don't use clamps for the brake hoses... They are to hard, to clamp them without leaving dents or worse in the hose. And you don't need it.

Before doing anything on the calipers, press the brake pedal and fix it in this position. You will have just a few drops of brake fluid leaking out with the pedal fixed.

You can do both together it doesn't matter. You have to do a full bleed afterwards anyway... (full means _all_ four!)

Default Clamp the hoses

If you are taking both off together ensure both sides pistons are pushed back before you start dismantling, otherwise when you push one back it will either force the other side pistons out or if disconnected cause a fluid leak.
Best to clamp the hoses.
In any case I would check the bleed nipples are free before you do anything. No point taking them off if the bleed nipples are seized and you have not got a solution to hand.
Good luck

If you want to save a ton of time, I have a pair of brand new ATE calipers which would be a straight swap.

Make an offer if you're interested.
