Default Exhaust off....'04 S60 D5 wont start.

Hi all.

Havent started car for a around 2 weeks after an exhaust mount bracket snapped off 4 weeks ago.
We'd started it a few times and drove it to garage which was shut with a makeshift strap for exhaust...but it's blowing from the manifold since the incident.
Anyway...now it wont start. Its been hotter and started without problem but it is quite hot today.
My hunch is dirt settling somewhere but dont know how to unclog it.
But I wondered if low back pressure from exhaust being off....would cause the problem as well.
I should add it started then we were pumping up tyres and it cut out...started a few times and spluttered almost immediately to a halt.

Any advice?

No exhaust shouldn't affect it alone, however, are there any sensors after the blow? If so it might be related to spurious values from those.
If it was running and cut out, then wont start, it sounds like something unrelated to the exhaust, such as fuel supply etc...

How much fuel is in the tank? If 1/4 tank or less can cause this if the transfer pump isn't working. Put some more fuel in to see if it sorts it out.

Thanks guys and sorry for wrong section. There is low fuel but about 100miles on range. Thats why I wondered if it was just crud from fuel tank...altho i run it close to empty often.
I just didnt know what 'gauze' or 'line' i needed to check and clean lol.
Will try and add more diesel...its worked before to be fair but usually when lower on fuel than that.

dont rely on trip computer to tell you how many miles to empty . never go less than a quarter tank to avoid problems like this happy motering
