Can't be great on fuel economy but it certainly does make getting into a cold car a lot easier - mostly making sure the front window is clear.

Thanks for the tip
Yep, you got it. Thing is it seems really obvious once you know how to do it, but I struggled for weeks with it beforehand

Glad it’s helping on these chilly mornings!

Hello,
to start the air conditioning with VOC after starting the engine, it must be in auto mode?

Hi - sorry, am not sure what you mean by “be in auto mode”.

Using the VOC app (with the car ignition off), firstly remote start the engine.

Wait for the VOC app to confirm remote start has worked, then start Parking Climate - you should get a message parking climate has started, and the cabin will start to heat.

I’m a little confused with “Remote Start” and “Parking Climate” too. I’ve just purchased a brand new XC90 T8 Recharge and have both options available in the On Call app.

I’ve tried both and both have done a perfect job in having the car nice and warm with windows defrosted (perfect at 7:30am on these frosty mornings).

But both seem to do the same thing on the T8. I’m sure I read somewhere that the Parking Climate feature will only work if plugged in. But that’s not been the case for me.

Is this an On Call bug?

I’ve resorted to solely using the Parking Climate app for now, simply because it sounds like the right option 😀

For the t8. Just use parking climate. It will fire up the aux heater. No need for remote start as you don’t need the engine on

Parking climate works fine whether plugged in or not for warming the car (better plugged in though as it will warm up the batteries and uses a lot of energy for that).

For air con in summer though, I understand it does indeed need to be plugged in.
