Tailgate material
Hi,
My wife just reversed into a skip and looking at the tailgate dent, the material from where the inwards curve in the center starts is some sort of white fibre. Is this normal? Or has it been damaged and filled before? Thanks.

Yes that’s normal. Whole of mine is the same. They’re some kind of plastic/fibre resin.
I guess weight saving for the power boot? I recall seeing a YouTube video of them drilling the boot for a spoiler. Took literally seconds to drill and fit!

yes that is a beautifully made fibreglass composite a very high quality piece of work . at least it will not bend , any damage is local to the point of impact and can be repaired .

When I did that the ding was ideally placed for me to stick a GB plate over it and no one was any the wiser!

Ok, that's great, hope spraying it with primer hasn't made things more difficult
