D5 acceleration issue - DPF Temp Sensor?
Any guidance with this issue would be greatly apricated.
I have a 2014 D5 XC70 auto with 55K miles. It has an issue where occasionally the car does not accelerate when the peddle is pressed. If you put the peddle to the floor the car will change down a gear as you would expect but not accelerate. If you lift off the peddle completely and re-apply the same happens and the car does not accelerate. It happened last night on the M3 and the only way to ‘fix’ it was put the gearbox into sport. This has happened around 10 times now. No warning lights show on the dash during this issue. I don’t have the VIDA software so am unable to see if any codes have shown on the car’s computer. My research leads me to think the problem is the related to the Diesel Particulate Filter Temperature Sensor failing and needing replacing i.e. this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190728077971 Has anyone has this problem before and if so, do you know what fixed it. The Volvo has a full services history and has had fuel filters etc changed as per the Volvo requirement. |

Like you said, research suggests the DPF Temperature Sensor to be the issue. Although, the MAF sensor also springs into discussion too.
You're probably best getting the codes read using VIDA, as its a guessing game otherwise. Bring it to an independent Volvo garage if possible to save on diagnostic costs. I imagine a main dealership will be expensive?

It's in the garage in March so I will have the codes read then. Hopefully, the car is logging a fault! Thanks for the reply.
