Default 79 chocolate brown code

I believe there a few model years where this is not the case (79-80?), if I understand correctly, they had a paper sticker on the slam panel instead, which often disappears.

I think mine is one of these because my VIN plate doesn't have any paint code info and I can't find it for the life of me!!

Anyone help?

Chocolate Brown probably

Morkbrun/Dark Brown code# 138/1 or 136/2 (/1 and /2 are shades or a different paint manufacturer.)

I suspect any Volvo dealership parts department should be able to tell you the paint code from the registration number.

Edited - 138/1 and 138/2 Dark shade and Rich shade. Not that it helps much.

Default confusion

i am having this same problem right now.

just got myself a blue '78 244 DL and i need some rattle cans made up to start work, but my VIN plate looks nothing like anything i can find on the internet.

i don't think anything on there relates to any paint codes.

410 is a light blue metallic, but this car is not metallic.

It could be 139 Appalachian blue, but difficult to see on this photo.
. Do you have photos of the whole car?
