So your original quote of beginining of Nov turned into 27th of Oct, excellent, gives me hope that I might get mine a week or so earlier than quoted.

Well they originally said end of September... then end of October... then first week of November. Turns out end of October. It was 8 weeks to arrival at the dealer which seems to be what Volvo quote as standard.

Now I just need to decide if it is worth spending more and getting Volvo insurance? I'm being quoted £520 for Volvo insurance or about £300 if I go with the cheapest I can find via online comparison websites.

Can't say for your location but for me it was no brainer.
I shopped around for the quotation from various companies and at the end Volvo Insurance quotation was almost 30% cheaper than the second cheapest... :0
