recommended rear pads and rotors

What do people recommend for replacement rear pads and rotors?

Been quoted £200+ for stock items from dealer
(and £400+ fully fitted, hence going to do it myself)
Since not going to pay the £400+, I'm happy to use some of the saving and pay a bit more for quality parts

(some cheaper ones don't seem to)

Brembo are fine. Before buying from Amazon, try carparts4less.co.uk and it's sister company Euro Car Parts. They usually have sales on, carparts4less have 22% off brakes at the moment while ECP have 40% off brakes.

Although they are sister companies, carparts4less is usually quite a bit cheaper so its difficult to compare discounts. Get a price from both.

Just put Brembo pads and discs on my 2017 D4 AWD. Have previously put Pagid pads on. Both seem good quality and Brembo is a well known name for brakes

Watch out for uneven pad wear. The outer offside pad had gone down to the backing plate on mine while the other 3 pads had 4-5mm left. I cleaned and lubricated the slider pins so hopefully this won't happen again

+1 for Brembo, no problems so far!
If you use ECP check if they are actually local stock, otherwise it can be a longer delivery time!
In my pad set the 'shims' were the wrong size. Old ones were fine, so just reused
I too had one pad well worn on the offside. My sliders were fine, so just wiped and regreased them. I'm sure I've seen somewhere that the rear brakes are used to 'trim' the car, maybe thats the reason.
There have been several posts recently about replacing rear pads etc, but the main points seem to be - Firstly use a battery to rewind the motor. There is a risk apparently of breaking the plastic housing otherwise, and you will need a long bit to get in. I used .25 standard push on connectors on my lead and then reversed the connections to wind the motor back on afterwards.
Also the carrier bolts are beggars to get out. The ends of the bolts stick through the casting and get mucky. Its also tight to get a ratchet on them due to the suspension arm shape!
Some rag and your favourite lubricating spray will help here!
Worst bit I had was getting the wheels off! Main dealer serviced, and never been off!
Despite those minor problems, took less than an hour each side, including jacking up!

I fitted Pagid pads and discs all round from CP4L, £150 for the lot. A year later everything is still good. Used a PP3 to wind off the rear brakes.

Yup also, Pagid discs and pads front and rear they work just fine. Will fit same again.

Brake parts for Volvos seem to be pricey everywhere. Try Autodoc website or app, but the £160 is probably the best you'll get.

Brembo are very good - Highly recommended.

I've got Pagid's on my car though (front & rear), as Brembo's were much more expensive at the time. Happy with the Pagid's... minimal brake dust, don't seem noisy etc.

Maybe worth checking out Volvo parts trade on fleabay, when I did my xc60 there was only about £10-£20 difference for genuine

My vote for Brembos. Volvo pads are horrendous for brake dust.
