Question S40 T5 2004 engine/tuning upgrades??

looking at possibly spending a few quid on my 2004 2.5 T5 220bhp

was thinking decat or sports cat?
larger intercooler?
k&n air intake kit?
Remap?

what are your thoughts on other upgrades ?

get a K16 and the block shimmed (block mod) plus your exhaust

bigger FMIC will also help a lot

depends on your budget and your goal power. But all you listed sounds good

for the K16 you would need bigger injectors and as mentioned the block shimmed.

- Exhaust wise your best bets are JT Tuning or Ferrita.
- Intercooler wise the DO88 one is meant to be pretty good.
- K&N - Sounds nice, lets more crap in the engine, doesn't really improve anything - Personally wouldn't bother but each to their own.
- Remap - Shark or MTE/Don Kalmar are the 2 good 'known' mappers, obviously there are others out there but you'll rarely get what they quote you'll get.

As said above, definitely get the block mod done, Tim Williams is your guy for that. It's just a shim that gets put in between the cylinder walls, very cheap material wise but head has to come off so labour and HG kit will be the bulk of the cost.

I'd replace your turbo control value too as they degrade over time and you don't realise how much power you've lost till you replace it.
