Body/Trim: - Lower Tailgate panel removal

Hi.
Can any tell me how I can remove the top plastic ribbed panel on the lower tailgate please? (Uppermost panel when it is lowered).
I have removed the three screws I can see, but it's still firmly attached, and I don't wish to resort to brute force and break something when someone might know how it's affixed and how it can be detached more easily.
Pictures, or a link to some would also be appreciated.

It's a my 2011 D5 Exec. if that might be significant.

There are clips at the back holding it in place, gently ease it up and the clips will release...or break away...
