Ozzy, RWD offset volvo wheels won't be the correct offset for your FWD V70...
Wooly, you could post pics on somewhere like imageshack.com if you were not sure how to post them here I really do need some wheels now, so subject to some pics i'll have them, I can't be bothered quibbling over a fiver |

Today whilst picking up 4 x winter tyres for when I manage to get hold of a set of wheels I asked my tyre dealer about 15" wheels off a 740, 850 or a 940 would fit my 2001 V70. He looked on his computer and compared all the relevant info from the various cars and said that wheels from an 850 and a 940 would be fine and also the classic v70 but not a 740. Just to clear things up. Cheers

Info on these dodgy computers is wrong quite often. The local motor factor's computer has been responsible for them giving me the wrong parts several times. Good luck with the search for wheels though |

strictly speaking rwd wheels can go on fwd but fwd cant go on rwd
but additional to yodas comments, with the fwd wheels on an rwd, hitting of caliper by wheels, serious scuffing on corners by the rear wheels and reduced steering lock by way of wheels hitting inner arches occurs. ask me how i know! Last edited by karlos_uk; Oct 29th, 2010 at 08:39. |

Yes they will physically fit, but the offset will be wrong wont it? And why would 940 wheels fit but not 740 even though they are interchangeable between themselves unless they were the 14" 740 wheels in which case they might have brake clearance issues?

so you reckon 850 and the classic v70 will fit. looking at 2 sets of classic v70 wheels on ebay at the moment. Cheers Ozzy |
