Anual service at dealer for the updates all mechanical works do myself at home unless no time.

Electronic faults, while I have Vida I am not fully conversant with it so would try resetting codes and reading them before it went to dealer, they have never tried to rip me off yet but sensors are too expensive to change on spec, so I want an idea what it may be before committing to big bills.

Paul.

I do what I can at home, the rest is done by a local garage.

I am not referring to servicing, but also general maintenance to keep the car in as good as a condition as possible.

Still got 3 years 'free servicing' left. So main dealer.

Do what I can myself, otherwise indy. Interestingly though the last job was cheaper at the dealer than it was at the indy (suspension coil springs front & rear).

As a retired engineer now almost 78 I still do my own maintenance on the Volvo & my classics, although I did use a friends garage to do the belts change. I have a garage/workshop with a pit, so that makes things easier, cheers,JDmac.

Having worked for two main dealers, I would actively dissuade anyone I can from using one. You pay the most money and in return, you get the worst service.

There are two reasons to use a main dealer for maintenance. One is free servicing and the other is for updates. If your car isn't new enough to need them then you'll be doing yourself a favour by avoiding main dealers like the plague.
