Won't start - Anti skid/brake failure fault
Good Evening all,
1st post on here and in need of desperate help. I've scoured the internet and facebook groups and can't find anything similar. I recently bought a 2005 S60 D5, 85k on the clock. I bought it knowing it had the "anti skid service" warning on which didn't concern me too much and was going to get it sorted asap. Drove perfectly for 3 days commuting back and forth to work with no issues, came out from work after a night shift and it wouldn't start. Dash was showing red warning "Brake failure stop safely" which was the first time it had come up. The engine was cranking and sounding healthy but would not start. Called out AA to see if they could get it going. I checked all the fuses, check that there was fuel at the injectors, battery was ok, all plugs were in correctly. AA were not able to get any faults either which I think may have been down to the diagnostic tool they were using as it wasn't VIDA? Does anyone have any experience with something like this? It's almost as if its in an immobilised state and there is something stopping it from starting (safety measure? - brake failure) I did plan on getting it booked into a old Volvo specialist in Sheffield however they have informed me they are closing for good soon and don't want to take on a potentially big investigation job. Any help is massively appreciated as I'm desperate to get it back running. Many thanks |
