Default Potential XC60 purchase

Hi all,

I've been a S40 08 plate owner for over 3 years now.

I have really enjoyed my S40 but could do with some more usable boot space.

I am looking at options. Sometimes i'm being conservative and look at a V40 as with 80mpg it would work out the same monthly cost as running my S40.

However, the XC60's are catching my eye. Whilst they don't have the same fuel economy and obviously a bigger buy in price, I reckon it may be an extra £40-50 a month vs the S40/V40 options mentioned above. If so, I could adjust my spends accordingly. The thing I need to find out more on is ongoing costs.

I have seen some options where they have done 100k at £12k. I'm guessing being around that age I would need to look at the cambelt change. Is there anything else to note on?

What kind of price are services and the tyres with them being bigger?

Any other thoughts please feel free to add to the thread.

Cheers
Jim

As long as your on 17 or 18 inch wheels plenty of tyre choice.
Wouldnt recommend the 20's for kerbing or tyre cost, and prob no winters available..

I really like my XC60 and bought a high mileage one (ex-company car) at 3 and a half years old.
I would pay more attention to the age and condition than I would to the mileage (assuming full service history of course).
If the belt has been done, a sticker under the bonnet should tell you when.
